Kekasih Silam Orang Laut
(Past Lovers of Orang Laut), 2021
Kekasih Silam is a fashion photo story telling a fictional narrative of the last families of the Orang Laut, or People of the Sea, who were native to Southeast Asian waters before the advent of British colonialism. The story discusses a loving couple torn apart with a clash between the Western lifestyle and their own rich culture.

A love story gone astray – a native couple residing over the sea torn apart. The age of colonialism in 19th century Singapore mesmerises the man and leaves his lover abandoned, longing to be with the man in
whose eyes she once saw the world.
Fate reveals an irreconcilable rift in an otherwise unbreakable bond. Self-realisation and acceptance teaches her the art of letting go—
Home was where her heart was, and where it longed to remain; so she remained in solitude over the waters she called home.
